The Christmas season is upon us and the star that sits atop the Billboard 200 tree is none other than Michael Buble, whose holiday album “Christmas” hits number one for a third week.

I know this may make me the lamest 17 year old that ever walked, but I’m seriously obsessed with Michael Bluble’s Christmas album. Not only has it been everywhere on the radio, but it’s taking over iTunes along with Spotify. You can’t miss it, but you don’t want too. I’m not a fan of his voice normally, but this freakin’ album has put in the Christmas SPIRIT. And I’m normally the Grinch this time of year.

American Idol James Durbin Releasing Album

You guys know James Durbin from American Idol right? He was a fairly popular contestant, but of course the ones that don’t win (and sometimes win) often lose what popularity they had once they’re gone. As much as we all thought James had fallen off the face of the earth… he hasn’t. He was busy making music video’s and making an album. Thank god he’s doing SOMETHING. Because no one from that year seems to be doing much.

The sneak peak trailer for “Love Me Bad” can be seen below. It is literally a SNEAK PEAK, because it’s only 20 some seconds long. The full clip will make its online debut on Nov 16 for all those wondering and it will be posted here on My Music Morphine. The song comes off Durbin’s debut album “Memories Of A Beautiful Disaster”, which is scheduled for release on Nov 21 via Wind-Up Records. Continue reading »

Amy Winehouse and Tony Bennett – Body And Soul

As I wrote in my previous article, Tony Bennett and Amy Winehouse did a duet together for Tony Bennett’s new Album, Duet II. The video was do to be released on her birthday, September 14th, of her and Bennett performing “Body and Soul.”

I said I’m sure it would be interesting to see the collaboration between Bennett and the beehive-crazed, funky (but talented) singer. Also what’s really cool about this is, if you do buy this song, all proceeds will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

Evanscence Releasing Self-Titled Album October 11th

I’m not sure about you guys but, after a notably long five years, the band Evanescence is FINALLY coming out with a new album. I can’t even express to you how excited I am. They released a Single, ‘What You Want‘ back in July, which was much anticipated among Evanescence fans.

Amy Lee had talked about the song as being ‘really different’ from anything in the band’s past, and, as you can tell, she wasn’t kidding. ‘What You Want’ is most definitely way different, quite possibly the deepest song Evanescence have ever made.

“It’s about freedom — that’s definitely a constant theme on the record — but, it’s like Evanescence, and me, and my relationship with the music and the fans, and coming to that realization of ‘This is what I’m supposed to do … I want to do this,’ ” Lee said. “And when it says, ‘Remember who you really are,’ that’s exactly everything you could assume it means.”

They self-titled Album Evanescence will be coming out October 11th. Any fans of them are stoked, and we’re glad this is finally coming out [even thought it's coming out a week later than originally thought]. Continue reading »

Amy Winehouse Tony Bennett Duet “Body and Soul” Video Premier Date

Fans of the late “Rehab” singer, Amy Winehouse will get to take a look at some of the last stuff she ever did on Wednesday, Sept 14th. She performed the duet song “Body and Soul” with the legendary singer, Tony Bennett which was recorded on March 23 at Abbey Road Studios in London. He decided to release a clip of the video that was shot during the time they were both in the studio on what would have been ‘Winehouse’s 28th birthday.

I’m sure it will be interesting to see the collaboration between Bennett and the beehive-crazed, funky (but talented) singer. All proceeds from the songs sales will be donated to the Amy Winehouse Foundation for orphaned children and supporting stopping addiction. That’s slightly contradictory. Har har! Continue reading »
