DJ Ravine

dj ravine

DJ Ravine is a Happycore (Happy Hardcore) DJ from Sydney, Australia. Personally, he is one of my favorite DJ artists in the underground world for his unique mixes, and amazing scratching skills. It was once said that,

DJ Ravine, used his talented “fast” mixing hands on a chick at the club, and she passed out!

Whoa, now that’s some skill! He definitely is an amazing scratch mixer and he is extremely FAST at what he does! Hear that ladies?

One of my favorite mixes by DJ Ravine, is his 32 minute Hardcore mix with DJ Cotts. DJ Cotts is a good friend of DJ Ravine. They do mixes with each other on occasion, when they are not busy keeping a house full of clubbers and ravers partying the night away. See this mix for yourself and don’t forget to check out their YouTube pages and the video below! Continue reading »

Okay, so we all know My Chemical Romance right? You know the group of guys that the “Emo-Kids” listen to. I for one, used to listen to them back in my Emo phase, then again, I also did a lot of things back then that I don’t do anymore. It seems the popular band followed by Blink-182 is back on the road, literally back on the “road” with the Honda Civic Tour. Ah, yes. I crack myself up sometimes! Anyway, the tour will consist of the two bands playing together at, Honda Civic Centers around the world? Maybe not. The Honda Civic Tour has more plans than just that, of course! They recently just came rolling through Detroit, followed by a bunch of sad teens with dark clothes and make-up. Now, what I want to know is, why Red? Why the awful red hair dye that makes Gerard Way look like he just got out of a Rehab center? Continue reading »

If you haven’t heard of Florence + The Machine you live under a rock or are stuck back in time. So, here’s you chance to come back to reality and listen to some good junk. Florence wasn’t really my cup of tea when that song ‘Dog Days Are Over’ came out, and I found it made my ears, nasal passages and fingers bleed a little as I clutched the table due to the horrible noise coming out of my computer.

Then I listened to ‘Comic Love’ from Alice In Wonderland, and I thought it was good and I began liking her. THEN, [hold onto your mouse for this one] I heard the song ‘What The Water Gave Me’ and quite literally fell off my rocker. I cannot even express how in love with this song I am. I’ve listened to it every morning before school, [along with 'She Will' by Lil Wayne] and then come home and listen to it. Continue reading »

Every come across a band or singer and been in lurve with them immediately? That’s how I feel about Skrillex. Which is weird, because he’s completely out of the norm for me. I’ve been going through this British Folk/Jazz kind of thing, and have been religiously listening to Adele/Mumford And Sons/Kaiser Chiefs…etc. So, when one of my friends was talking about Skrillex, I had to Google it, because I thought it was some horrible disease you catch in Vegas. Har har.

The other writer, Steph, made a post Her Fascination With The Band Keane, so now it’s my turn.

There’s one dude behind this mix of Complextro, Dubstep and Electro House type music, and his name would be Sonny Moore. He’s of course known as Skrillex, and is an American complextro producer from Los Angeles and past lead for the band “From First to Last” that he was only with from ’04 to ’07. Which I’m sure most of you between 12 to 20 have heard of, or still listen too. Continue reading »

I’ve always had a thing for those cute little foreign bands. How could you not adore them? The band members are always ridiculously nerdy, slightly chubby, and they have accents which is probably the number one reason we like them. Even those ones with the messed up teeth, fruity mustaches and an ugly fashion sense still seem to give us all those “Teenage Dreams” that Katy Perry talks about.

One of those fashionably defective bands that just recently caught my green eye [I have two different color eyes] was the band Keane from Sussex, England. They formed in 1997 and that makes them almost as old as me which concludes the fact I’m seriously out of touch. At any rate, Tom Chaplin (Vocals) has replaced my out-of-date love, Marcus Mumford.
